The National General Certificate is one of the most widely held health and safety qualifications, accepted by employers and by professional bodies including IOSH. It builds a practical understanding of how to manage risk, from policy and culture through to risk assessment.

Do I need any experience?
No. There are no formal entry requirements, so it suits anyone new to health and safety as well as people formalising what they already know.
How long does it take?
Plan on roughly 110 to 125 hours of study, depending on how you choose to learn.
What is the difference between the National and International certificates?
The National General Certificate is for learners in the UK. The International version is for learners outside the UK.
Who delivers the course and who awards the qualification?
Astutis, one of our training partners, delivers the course and you book with them. NEBOSH awards the qualification.
Where can I go next?
Many learners go on to the NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma for more advanced study.
